Jacque DeVille

Jacque is a male T’Skrang swordsmaster and warrior (at the time of writing, he is a circle 5 swordsmaster / circle 1 warrior). He is about 180 cm tall, and quite old for an adventuring Lizard.

His skin is usually a healthy, bright green, and his eyes and fins are a bit on the yellow side. He favours flamboyant clothing, and always carries a billowing cape.

Jacque comes from Orodval, a small village near Lake Ban, where he was spawned many years ago, sharing the pond with Caladui the troubadour.

When he came of age and became impatient with the hand of his mother on his tail, he left to explore the world. He met up with Ladin, a windling elementalist, Caladui, Halgar the obsidiman weaponsmith and Gandalf the dwarven thief(!) and decided to join their adventuring party. This has led him through rivers of blood, far too many fellow party members, a good portion of Barsaive, a sequence of Horrors and their gemlike Eyes, 3 years as a farming slave and a fair-sized heap of mayors...

He is very fond of swordplay, and is very proud of his moderate proficiency in the handling of the sword. He fancies himself the Perfect Hero, and one of the few things that can really touch him is when he’s done something, or is accused of doing something, that might not seem to be totally altruistic. This said, he has no qualms in killing those who cross him or his friends. His obsession with his personal honour was injured during the time he spent ploughing the fields of a Theran lord. The loss of those of his fellow slaves who could not stand up to the pressure of the hard work seem to have broken something in his mind, and the full effect of this is yet to be seen.

He was very fond of Ladin the Windling Elementalist, and has grieved his loss ever since his mysterious disease and subsequent disappearance. He never really trusts Snare the nethermancer, but respects his value in a combat situation, although the use of magic in the service of death really unnerves him. He somewhat despises Sheila the wizard for her inability to face up with danger, but accepts her because in her own elven way, she is actually quite pretty. Ar’Talen the archer he respects, as he has shown his worth in analysing several complex problems, although he dislikes his reluctance in facing the enemy in hand to hand combat. Ramling the troll skyfisher ... err ... skyraider, on the other hand, is a man of his heart, strong and brave as he is, despite his lack of fame.
